Explore tree genera and inventory categories.
Percentages show the share of all 184,422 inventory records. Bars compare counts with the largest genus.
This is an independent visualization of the City of Vancouver’s public-tree inventory. At city scale, nearby records are grouped separately by genus to keep the map readable. Each group is anchored to a real tree coordinate. Zoom in to see individual records; inventory counts always include the full selected population.
Private trees are outside this source. Tree attributes may go several years between updates, even though the dataset is refreshed regularly. These records do not establish canopy coverage, tree health, cooling, carbon, or age.
Zero measurements are shown as recorded, not converted to missing values. Their meaning is not independently verified. Botanical artwork is decorative and represents a genus, not a photograph of an individual tree.
Surrounding land and regional highways provide geographic context only. North Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond and other surrounding areas are not selectable and have no tree records in this inventory. Regional coastline and highways: Province of British Columbia; municipal boundary: Metro Vancouver.
